So what are these machines????

They all have different names but they are all basically the same machines...industrial shredders...

There are only four groups in the world that make these machines

This data and information is to help clients understand specific types of recycling machines, and in this document ......a Rasper...and to understand their use and applications

Once again we clearly make the statement that unfortunately, in our opinion, with the growth of the green movement over the last 45 years, and most recently in the last 5 years, engineering facts are not being properly put forth to clients, explaining the wide variety, and types of recycling equipment, their use and their applications

One example of this issue concerns a specific machine called a "Rasper type shredder" or "Rasper type grinder"

This is a wonderful machine that has a wide range of applications

The basic design of the machine is to cut materials into smaller particle sizes. The key design of the machine is that it can cut metal that is often found in certain materials

One application for the Eidal rasper is to process tire chips into a wire free form. Separating the rubber fraction from the metal fraction or wire fraction

One application for the Eidal rasper is to process e waste or weee into a metal free form separating the plastic and glass fraction from the metal fraction

One application for the Eidal rasper is to process wire and wire cable that is composed of steel, copper, aluminum, paper and plastic so that they can be separated in downstream equipment.

The actual "Rasper type shredder grinder " design evolved in the 1970's with several major design patents

There are several designs the rasper type shredders but they are all basically the same type of designs

The one shaft (single shaft) rasper shredder grinder design is the most not common to the industry, and often referred to as a Denmark or France design.

Our Eidal rasper design is the same

This type of machine is once again a punch and die type machine with a shearing action combined with punch and die action, see picture below.

This punch and die design is also found in a two shaft design with a center cutter bar. This design is often used for fuel production

The Eidal Rasper is an industrial shredder with a selection of sizes

The size of the unit is determined by the diameter of the rotor and the length of the rotor in the machine

The hp to drive the machine is determined by the material and the amount of power that is needed to accomplish the task

The basic Rasper machine is much like a rotor in a music box

The picture below shows the size of the cutting chamber in this type of dual shaft (two shaft) shear type industrial shredder.

As mentioned above, several groups in the world pioneered this design over the last 45 years.

The wonderful applications for the industrial eidal rasper are often enhanced by the use of other machines

There are many combination system designs that we use to process-recycled product

Tire recycling uses the Eidal Rasper to remove the wire from the rubber

Electronic recycling uses the rasper to remove the metal from the plastic and backing boards

Fridge recycling uses the rasper to remove contaminants from the plastic residue in a full metal recycling operation

There are many applications for the use of the Eidal Rasper and the key to its success is the industrial design for durability and long life
